A Manila-to-Los Angeles plan needs two local dates
Manila shows UTC+08:00 in both examples. Hong Kong matches its local time at those instants, and Tokyo is one hour ahead. Manila still retains the Asia/Manila rule name, which keeps its identity and historical date calculations distinct.
Los Angeles is sixteen hours behind Manila in January and fifteen in July. That difference can put a call on the preceding local day for the Los Angeles participant. Share a full date and time for each city, and verify the actual appointment instead of copying a date-free hour.
