A LITTLE LOCAL CONTEXT
Chicago is at UTC−06:00 in the January example and UTC−05:00 in July. Mexico City matches Chicago in January but is one hour behind in July. Using the named cities avoids turning a coincidental same-hour comparison into an incorrect permanent assumption.
New York is one hour ahead of Chicago at both sample instants, and Los Angeles is two hours behind. Start with those relationships for orientation, then convert the selected date before sharing an appointment. Minute and date labels matter as much as the familiar hour difference.
Both rows use 12:00 UTC on the stated date. The local date and time below follow the pinned 2026a rules.
| UTC date | Local date | Local time | UTC offset |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-01-15 | 2026-01-15 | 06:00 | UTC−06:00 |
| 2026-07-15 | 2026-07-15 | 07:00 | UTC−05:00 |
Two samples are not a complete transition calendar or a guarantee of future rules. Convert your actual date and time; understand skipped and repeated times.
The live display begins with device time and requests a synchronized estimate when the server's health is known. Its status explains which source is in use. JavaScript is required for the moving clock; place and zone information remain available without it.
